After graduating from Northampton University in 2005, I embarked upon the trip of a lifetime, travelling around the world backpacking for nine months. Most of this was done on my own which was a fantastic experience, meeting loads of great people, seeing sights, and doing a few scary things including jumping out of a plane at 15,000 feet – with a parachute nonetheless.
A few months after my return, I made the one hour move up the M6 to Manchester to find my fortune. London seemed a bit too far away for my Mum to still be doing my washing. Wanting to utilise my English and Media degree, I looked for any job to gain experience in the industry and started off at Peel Advertising at The Trafford Centre, dipping my toe in the promotions department. For a change of scene, I went to Manchester Airport, to work at Eye, not to catch a plane, and gain a greater insight in selling outdoor media. After working for two media owners, I wanted to try my hand in an agency and was lucky enough to fill the role at Space and Time, and so far I am enjoying working here, even if most of the office discussions are centred on food.
In my spare time I still like to get out and about and travel as much as possible, even if it’s just back home to Stafford to catch up with friends and family.
