With a degree in English and History under my belt, which was a bit uncomfortable, I gained my first taste of media working at the local paper back in 2006. In the romantic setting of an East Sussex industrial estate, I met a wonderful girl - now my wife – and we decided to go travelling; this world tour included South America, India, New Zealand and a stint of employment for an international bank in Sydney.
Thankfully nothing got bitten off during our adventures (a piranha did have a nibble on my day sack in the Amazon) but I did bite hands off at the chance to join the Space and Time team on my return in 2008. I think my knowledge of OOH opportunities in the Bolivian desert gave me a foot in the door.
Everyone thinks I’ve been away for 18 months working for a sports website supplier in Brighton, but I’ve really just been trying to find a parking space in Reigate. Returning for an action-packed sequel, I’d like to think I’m wiser and more motivated than ever, but my cheeks still sweat when I eat cheese.
Outside of the media planning and buying world, I spend my time watching my 8 month old son, Finley Jack Albion, with fascination, preparing him for life as a potential ginger and teaching him football chants. I’m also a contributor and regular columnist to a Brighton and Hove Albion fanzine. Could probably get you a deal on a half page…
