Dan joined Space and Time in January 07 - compared to the length of time his family and friends have known him, 2 and half years feels relatively short - but when you work with someone 8 hours a day, 5 days a week (and share the odd beer or two) in a comparatively small team, where everyone supports each other and the culture is more family than corporation, bonds are formed quickly and firmly. Those two and half years may just as easily have been a lifetime, such is our feeling as a team for Dan.
In May this year, Dan was part of a team of ten space and timers who took to the mammoth challenge of climbing Ben Nevis, in an attempt to raise money for Cancer Research. Ironically, all of this was planned and decided well before Dan's diagnosis, but he was always going to be part of the climbing team. After he was diagnosed, so intent upon still being a part of that team was he, that he booked his chemo treatments so that the weekend of the climb would fall on a 'good' week, right at the end of one course and just before the next one started. Dan approached this challenge in the way he approached everything - with positivity and determination. His achievement was nothing short of miraculous.
Dedicated, committed, inspirational and courageous are just a few of the adjectives that sum up the Dan we have had the honour of sharing the last 2 and half years with. I'm sure many of you can think of so many more, which is why we have decided to set up this page. We welcome you to post your thoughts and memories of Dan so that these can be shared with everyone who had the pleasure of knowing him.

Dan,
It's not often you meet someone who just accepts you without question and prejudice, but Dan was one of those people. He like me for me…and my cooking.
He was one of my closest friends in the office and I feel honoured to have known him for half of my time here at Space and Time.
I will miss your laugh and your smile and putting the world to rights on a weekly basis out the back of the office; not to mention being my dancing partner and having your protection at every Christmas party - Who's going to scoop me off the floor now? I will miss that funny little nose rubbing thing you did that used to drive me mad - I'd do anything to see you do that again now.
Thank you for letting me see you during these past months – I will treasure that always.
The angels may have you, but you'll always be a friend in my heart.
